Summary
The party has a dream, summoning them to the edge of the Sea of the Seamless Sky. A local guide tells them another party had similar dreams and he led them there, but they remained behind when the food ran out and he doesn't know what happened to them. The guide, and his master, a retired wizard turned blacksmith, guide the party to the sea. Along the way, the party tries to dream and they see more of the message. They reach the shore and make camp near a bay with a strange rock formation. In the morning they see it is the crumbled remnants of a black stone building. As they approach, their guide seems to go mad and tries to run inside. The party is attacked by giant scorpions. Dahlia pursues the guide, Lariel, Willy and the wizard fight the scorpions. Willy wildshapes into a tiger to fight. Laeriel kills a scorpion and joins Dahlia in pursuit and shoots the guide to try to stop him, figuring Dahlia can heal him. But the guide takes multiple arrows without stopping. Willy is forced back into normal form by wounds from the scorpion, but it stings itself and dies (Jack botched). Dahlia tries to lasso the guide with her rope and misses, but catches up to him and grapples with him. Lariel sprints up and ties the guide with her rope, but he jumps to his feet, runs into a tunnel and casts Dimension Door and disappears. Willy and the wizard catch up and they cautiously move into the tunnel. They find a seaside altar above a giant well, the guide reveals himself to be a warlock of the old temple's master and summons zombies from the sea to take them as sacrifice. The wizard is enraged his apprentice has been killing people and joins the party in attacking him. Dahlia casts Call Lightning from her sword to strike the warlock, then turns the zombies. The warlock is struck and knocked unconscious and Dahlia runs up to his body and hits it with Thunderous Smite, knocking him into the well. The surviving zombies turn and return to the sea.
