Your name is? (Is that your real name? If not how did you acquire this nickname? Do you have any titles or pseudonyms?)
Lennon. Not my real name, but it’s what I’m called.
Doctor. Not a name at all, but I get called this a lot too.
Wu Shen Ang. My real name that nobody ever uses.
Dr. Winston O’Boogie. For I.P.F.L. purposes only.
What do you look like?
My mother is Anglo-Sino. My father is Sino-Anglo. That makes me Anglo-Sino-Sino-Anglo which just means that I look Chinese, except when I don’t. Also, I’m tall. Really tall. The kind of tall where people always want you to get stuff off shelves for them, like I’ve got nothing better to do, or they ask you the weather report, like I’ve never heard that one before.
What is your style and attitude? (How do you dress and talk? Are you cultured or rim folk?)
I don’t worry too much about style or culture. I’ve been wearing nothing but military uniforms since I was about 12. 6 years out from the war and I still have no idea how to dress if it’s not regulation whatever. Except for my glasses. I had them made for me to look like John’s glasses and I really like them.
Do you have any quirks we should know about?
Do I ever! Or that’s what people tell me. I have no idea what they’re talking about.
Where do you hail from? (Where were you born? Where did you grow up? What was your childhood and youth like? What does your family think about you?)
I have paper work (with a government stamp and everything) that says I’m from Shadow. But actually I was born on Londinium, back before they agreed to Alliance control and put the whole planet into a state of ruination. I haven’t been back since. My family is still there though. Actually, I grew up, and they live, just a few towns over from where Chih’s family lives. It’s a small ‘verse isn’t it? Two sons on the same ship, just a few miles apart on the same world, and neither knows the other exists.
What is your best quality as a person? (And your worst quality? Be honest. It’s not like it’s a job interview or anything.)
I think of myself as a physician first, but I’m still a soldier; I just fight on behalf of my patients that’s all. Come to think of it that’s probably my worst quality as well. I’m sure other people might have other ideas though.
Describe your personality in only two words.
I can’t describe anything in only two words. I’d have to use a lot more than two to describe my personality. Maybe six or seven, but I’m not even sure.
Describe your favorite things and your least favorite things (foods, drinks, books, music, assault rifles, etc.)
I really like The Beatles. They’re so good that I don’t have room for any other favorite things.
I really don’t like rats on the ship.
They say that you can judge a man by the enemies he makes and the friends that he keeps. Who is your “nemesis” and who are your allies?
I try to stay friends with the crew, but they’re always saying things like “Lennon, when are you going to put the access panels back on?” , “Lennon, why are you destroying the kitchen?” ,and “Lennon, what in the tyen shiao-duh did you do to the ship’s logs?”
All is forgiven as soon as somebody gets shot though.
What do you fear? (Do you have reoccurring nightmares or dreams?)
Not being able to help the crew. If something were to happen to me, then who would be there if something were to happen to them?
Who do you look up to? (If there isn’t anyone now, was there someone in the past?)
John Lennon. He was an old Earth-that-Was musician and songwriter. His group was the most famous ever on that planet, and with the help of his wife, Yoko Ono he ended a war.
What offer would be irresistible enough for you to betray your friends and crewmates?)
I can’t imagine one. Get it? Imagine.
What is your romantic life like? (Orientation? A virgin? Has there been a “great love”?)
I’d like to find my Yoko someday. Maybe we’ll change to the ‘verse together.
What is your most treasured possession? Why?
My one fifth share in the Yellow Submarine, of course. It’s my home, my livelihood, and it’s where my friends are. I’ll protect it (and those in it) with my life if necessary. I have a lot of things I like that I don’t want to lose, but the Yellow Submarine is the only thing that can’t be replaced.
What are your ambitions? (What are you social, professional, and romantic goals? What do you wish you could do that you can’t?)
I’d like to run my clinic without running out of credits every few months.
What other kinds of work have you done to pay the bills?
I’ve always been a doctor and I’ve always been a soldier.
What are your political and religious beliefs, if you have any? (Do you have any prejudices?)
I’d call myself a “Browncoat” since that represents my general anti-unification stance. My family follow Buddhist traditions so I know all the sutras and mantras. Haven't said them since I was about fifteen though. "Imagine no religion. It's easy if you try." That's what they say. Or at least that's what John said.
What were you doing during the Unification War? (How has the war affected you? Did you serve in the war? Which side? Did you lose anyone you cared about in the war?)
I served with the Independents (one of the many members of the former Londinium armed forces to do so). I was a field surgeon in the 42nd Overlanders Forward Field Medical Company. I never did any actual fighting even though I was near many of fronts of many of the largest land battles. There were a lot of guys getting shot and trying to bleed to death, so most of the war for me was spent inside an OR.
