Homemade Salsa

My homemade salsa recipe, based on a recipe I got from my mom and some experimentation.

1 can diced or petite diced tomatoes
1/3 cup chopped jalapenos (seeds and centers removed, leave some seeds depending on how hot you want it. No seeds gives a decent medium heat)
1/8 teaspoon of cumin powder
Half a "ring" of diced onion (2-3 tablespoons probably, more if you like onion)
1 teaspoon lemon juice
Sprinkle some garlic or add a couple of crushed cloves depending on taste.

Mix all in a saucepan and simmer about 20-30 minutes over low to medium heat, stirring regularly. It will be spicier the next day as the jalapeno sits.
