Summary
The party arrived at a small town and encountered the locals fleeing some kind of plague or curse. In the town square, a crowd is threatening to lynch an old sage. The town's priest tells the party that the sage led an expedition to explore some old elvish ruins that were overrun by orcs, but then the orcs died of a plague supposedly sent by the elves as revenge. But no one in town has fallen ill. The priest asks them to explore the ruins for the truth. When they arrive, they find live orcs have seized the ruins. The party starts fighting their way in. Their cleric is killed by accident when he is standing too close to his target and gets a Fireball spell from his Wand of Wonder. The party presses on and starts to explore the dungeons beneath the ruins.
But we ran out of time.
