Chimai is a hot, tropical world, dominated by rain forests throughout its equatorial and mid-latitudes. Local population is low, with a minimal spaceport (no repairs or refueling facilities) which handles the medium size freighters that call here. Chimai exports various pharmaceutical plants which are harvested by hand from the jungles. Population and government are minimal, mostly made up of jungle harvesters and some farmers who barely produce subsistence level crops to feed the population on land laboriously hacked out of the jungle. Local medical care is minimal and the jungles host both predators and illnesses which can attack the locals. Despite the profit from the plants harvested here, the companies buying them collude to keep prices low and the harvesters. There are rumors of outsiders landing to harvest plants themselves or smugglers buying from the locals.
