Summary
Eleasis 22-24
The party has been in Furthinghome after clearing the temple of Sune and driving out the vampire and their evil minions. Kiri has been investigating the remaining temple staff and now replacement priests have arrived to take over the temple. They suggest Kiri give them the Heartstring Harp, but Kiri refuses. They are headed to Mulsantir anyway and she thinks they would be better security for the harp. Kiri draws a week's worth of rations for the party and they depart.
Eleasis 26
The party is moving through the Tannath Gap in the Dragonjaw mountains and stop in the village of Fydale. While finishing dinner, they hear the sound of a spell going off outside. They rush out and look around and spot a cleric leading townsfolk down the road, a body is near the road. They run after them and try to talk to the last villager in the group, he says the cleric is taking them someplace safe. He seems to be charmed. Then the "cleric" throws a Firebolt at them. Caeli replies with spells, Andre misses with javelins. Risa casts Fire Shield from her Inferno Staff and charges up close. Thorn and Mirag shoot arrows from their long bows. Kiri checks the villager, he is dead, and she casts Revivify to restore him. Down the road, a group of Yuan-ti emerge from the woods to attack the party. Risa attacks the cleric and stuns her. Caeli casts Melf's Minute Meteors and starts throwing them at the Yuan-ti. Thorn kills the cleric with arrows and moves up. Mirag shoots at the Yuanti and heals Caeli with Healing Word. Andre casts Divine Favor and moves up and throws more javelins. Kiri begins playing the harp, blessing the party and heals the villager with Healing Word. With the false cleric dead, the villagers scatter and run for safety. A Yuan-ti malison attacks Andre and another shoots at Risa. The rest of the uan-ti are either shooting poisoned arrows at the party or moving in with swords.
The party moves in and begins dropping the Yuan-ti. Mirag and Kiri keep the party up with Healing Word spells, Thorn, Risa, and Andre cut through the enemy. Andre gets a massive blow in with a smite boosted attack. Caeli continues hurling spells. The attackers are slain, and the party regroups, but there are a couple alive. They finish one and take another for questioning.
Andre ties up the survivor and Caeli casts Detect Thoughts and starts questioning him. They learn that the plague is a Yuan-ti plot to depopulate part of Thesk for the Yuan-ti to conquer. They have been kidnapping humans to use as test subjects to develop the plague. There is a Yuan-ti base nearby that is where the plague is developed. They spread the plague by poisoning food at inns. They are out capturing people who survived the first round of the plague to see how they survived. There are a couple dozen prisoners at the Yuan-ti lab now. The lab has a heavily defended front entrance but receives supplies by oar galley across an underground lake.
The party explains things to the local village and turns over the prisoner to them and tells them to spread the word. The party rests overnight and in the morning the head to the secret Yuan-ti base.
Eleasis 28
The party has reached the area of the mountains and is trying to figure out how to get in. One plan is for Caeli to pretend to be a Yuan-ti, Andre will drink her Potion of Alter Self and be another. Risa and Kiri will be prisoners, Mirag will wildshape into a small snake and Thorn will wear the Ring of Invisibility. But they also think there may be a way to reach the underground lake and hit them from behind. Thorn finds tracks of kobold hunting parties in the area. Kiri casts Divination for help finding an entrance to the lake and gets "Follow the small scaled ones, but beware the eyes that watch". They find a kobold group but scare them off. Thorn follows their tracks to a cave and the party conceals their horses and descends.
A couple hours down, they find a side passage that leads to a cavern, the passage is strangely smooth, and no one can figure out how it was made. There is a faint smell of rotting meat, and the party decides to bypass it. But shortly after, a beholder appears in the tunnel behind them! Caeli and Kiri are surprised. Andre throws two javelins and misses, Thorn hits it hard with an arrow. The Beholder puts Thorn to sleep and hits Andre with two eye beams. Mirag charges and covers up with his shield. Risa runs up and batters it. The beholder shoots at Kiri and Charms Mirag.
Caeli hits the Beholder with Vitriolic Sphere and shakes Thorn awake. Thorn tries to wake Mirag up but cannot. Andre attacks again and hits once. The Beholder shoots eye beams at Caeli, Risa, and thorn, then opens its main eye and the party is washed in anti-magic. All spells end, Mirag is out of the charm. But he sees the stone on his warhammer change back into the demon's amulet!! The demon's voce thunders in his head "My amulet!" Kiri plays the harp to bless the party.
A giant demon, holding a sword and flaming whip appears before Mirag, dwarfing him, it barely fits in the tunnel. Caeli dashes forward past the Beholder and hits it with a Chromatic Orb from behind. Kiri runs up, playing the harp. Mirag realizes he only has a moment and smashes the amulet with the metal edge of his shield. There's is a blinding flash, most of the party and the beholder are blinded. The demon screams, the sound trails off into the distance. Risa shakes off the blindness and lays into the Beholder and kills it.
As the party's vision returns, Mirag is laying on the floor, his tower shield torn in half. He stirs and a pair of black wings unfold! He sits up and Mirag has been transformed into a massive half demon/dragon, half bear!!
