Blueberry Ice Cream

This is a small batch recipe for pint size personal ice cream makers. The recipe could be used for strawberries, etc. Original Link

Ingredients
1 to 1&1/4 cup blueberries
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tablespoon water
1 cup half and half

Directions
Rinse blueberries, remove any stems or spoiled berries. In order, add blueberries, water and then sugar to the pan and stir to spread sugar over the berries.
Boil blueberries, sugar and water in small saucepan, then reduce heat and simmer for a few minutes until sugar is dissolved and blueberries have softened and broken or popped. It will boil quickly, stir frequently.
Strain blueberries in a mesh strainer into a container, pushing down with rubber spatula to force juice out. Scoop out blueberry skins, set aside and refrigerate, they make good jam! Let juice cool.
Mix blueberry juice with half and half. Fill ice cream maker as directed, refrigerate leftover mix. Freeze mix according to ice cream maker's directions, scoop out when frozen, and refill with leftover mix and freeze again to make another batch.
